STOP WORRYING NOW!
"Worry" is one of the most common difficulties that bring people to our office. Chronic worry can seem like a continuous stream of negativity that intrudes on our minds and is hard for us to escape. Worry is not usually focused on one thing, but often we jump from one worry thought to another and to another and to another. Despite feeling consumed with worry there are some things you can start doing right now to worry less and live freer and easier.

•Get to know your worry -- Start identifying your own sources of stress and worry; keep a record or journal of worry thoughts, sometimes just writing them down helps us to clear our minds.
•Be your own best friend -- engage in positive self talk, for every worry thought remind yourself of something positive in your own life, however, small or trivial it might seem.
•Just the facts madam -- Challenge yourself, ask yourself how plausible are these worries? Ask yourself what is the worst that can happen? Perhaps it is not as bad as you fear.
•Accentuate the positive -- Sell yourself on a positive outcome, imagine all of the good you can create from your worry by generating positive thoughts!
•Take perspective -- ask yourself will this be such a big deal a week from now? A month?
•Decide -- Making a decision is an active process; Review what you have learned about your worry thoughts, put your energy into positive self talk, reminders of things that are positive; make a decision to "leave your worries behind" and commit to it. NOW!
Simple tips to make today matter....
•Do it NOW! Avoid procrastination -- every time you put something off you are delaying your life, be like Nike and "Just Do It!" Besides, it feels great to cross things off your list.
•Practice Makes Perfect! -- Visualize being successful at whatever it is you are trying to accomplish. Practice seeing yourself attain your goal today, and tomorrow you will!
•Be Clear! -- Outline what you want to accomplish, if you don't know where you are going how will you know when you get there?
•Embrace... no, learn to LOVE failure -- Yes you read right! It is through failure that we learn, so take big risks, go for the brass ring, and if you should at first fail, dust yourself off, figure out what to do differently, and succeed the next time!

If you or a loved one struggle with worry, anxiety, stress, or need any other assistance please call and speak to one of our staff members today!
